My long last fascination with indie is reborn. Ernest Greene, better known as Washed Out, brings a new outlook to an old world1. With hand cut 80's samples, mixed in groovy bassline, and a washed out vocal dressing to top, this chef takes the crown. Washed Out is identified within the genre of "chillwave" and is currently working under the label, Sub Pop. This guy is more than a name those, he is a vibe.

One of the best live musicians I have ever heard.

I first saw him this past weekend playing on the offset of xxyyxx (ya I chose to listen to this guy).

Then, by coincidence, I saw him the night after at the HGNMY show as an opener.

Dailon's not your typical DJ. Rocking an MPK49 midi keyboard, this guy dances with the music, feeling out each every effect/key press. When he plays, he headbops to his own vibes the whole time barely looking at the crowd. The message being, "I do what I do because I love doing it." His style is best described as being wavy, smooth, and almost transcendent. Some close your eyes and loose your self shit.

HW&W Recordings is defintelly my favorite label right now. Kaytranda, Stwo, and Ta-Ku are just a few names from the label pushing the genre (new wave future bass?) into public domain. Can you hear the similarity among all of the artists? Each brings a soul for sound, a vibration of knowledge, and good vibes to accompany. Music can say a lot about a person.

"I want to explain the meaning, but it's not coming out. Words alone just don't cut it, man. I mean...it's like a mixture of thoughts, emotion, power and love together as one. It's like I want to say, 'wake the fuck up, and get it. he's/she's not your enemy, your your enemy. So don't worry...'"

Straight from the great city of London, England, Kaasi is putting it down. With some awesome synth/vocal stabs, sprikled crackle snares, and a danceable BPM, his music bring a sense of soothing energy. His new track Lucy Stone is blowing up right now and I really hope he gets some much deserved publicity. I could only imagine how his live shows might go. Check out his Facebook and Soundcloud.

Mikos Da Gawd is coming out hot with new releases brought to you by Soulection. Residing from my home the SF bay area, Mikos Da Gawd has been mixing up a brew of soul, hip-hop and bass. Let the drop go, and be immersed in a dimension of beauty and flow...a feeling like no other. I'm really looking forward to what Mikos Da Gawd has in store for the future.
