Deltron 3030 / Del the Funky Homosapien

Right when you thought this was an electro blog...Deltron 3030 aka Del the Funky Homosapien will always be one of my favorite artists. Straight from my home of Oakland, California, Del is best known for being in groups such as Hieroglyphics and Souls of Mischief. His rapping is deep and has a melody no other rapper can compare to. What I like most about Del is the meaning behind his lyrics. Listen carefully and you'll be hit by his many wise words that challenge the status quo.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

This guy got it right. Orlando Higginbottom and his partner Edmund Finnis takes electronic music to a whole new level. Defined officially as dance music, in the interview above (1:08) he says,

"If we just kinda woke up tomorrow morning and there were none of these genre's, you just had your record collection in front of you and you didn't know what any of it was called or where any of it came from, it wouldn't matter, that'd be great. That'd be great and you'd probably write some amazing music and you'd love some music that you never loved before. Cause all the connotations and the weird ideas you had about whether it's cool and where it's come from and what scene it is and who wrote it and whether you've heard it before. Those would just be gone. I like that idea."

Orlando couldn't have said it better and his music truly speaks to this concept. Orlando is truly paving the road towards bringing creativity back into electronic music (let alone music in general) and pushing against the clutches of label run mainstream music.

His new album is soon to be released and I bet it'll be a masterpiece.

B.Lewis

Right out of San Jose, California, B.Lewis puts down some very smooth music. B.Lewis uses a perfect mixture of Hip-Hop and synthesizers that shouts uniqueness. 5 albums and 1 EP to his belt, B.Lewis shows to the world he lives and breaths music. He has even collaborated with one of my favorite artists, Xperiment, which puts him at the top of my artist list. Check out his array of amazing albums at bandcamp.

Some more of that goodness.

Hey everyone, back again for post number 2. If you liked what I had last post, then you'll definitely love this; some more of that glitch sound that you all crave. Recently I've found and started to follow a group called Fractal Sky. A up and coming glitchhop crew who has had side acts with Gramatik, Big Gigantic, Prophetic Massive, Somasphere, Telepath, Zoogma, Jwail, and Peter Paul. Long story short, this guy knows his samples and he's not afraid to try new things. Check it.
